The Narendra Modi Stadium at Motera, Ahmedabad, is the largest cricket stadium in the world, with a seating capacity of 132,000 across two massive bowl tiers. Designed by international sports architects Populous in partnership with L&T Construction, the stadium features an iconic column-free PTFE tensile membrane roof spanning 280 meters.

The bowl geometry offers completely unobstructed 360-degree sightlines from every seat. The lightweight tensile roof rests upon an outer perimeter compression ring of heavy structural steel trusses, eliminating the need for interior columns that could block spectator views.

Dynamic Crowd Synchronous Resonance: 132,000 spectators jumping or chanting in unison generates severe rhythmic dynamic forces; the seating bowl steel had to be tuned to natural frequencies > 4.5 Hz to prevent resonance catastrophe.

Massive Roof Perimeter Compression Ring: The outer steel compression ring withstands thousands of tonnes of radial tension from the inner cable hoop.

High Seismic Acceleration: Located in Gujarat's seismically active Zone III, foundation piles and shear piers required Fe 550D rebar with exceptional ductility reserves.
